Fisherman's Bend Cabin reservations are now available ONLINE!

Escape the chaotic city and embrace a serene getaway at Bessman-Kemp Cabins, tucked away in rural Iowa along the tranquil Iowa River. Not only do these cabins boast breathtaking water views, but they won't break the bank! So, pack up the family and head out for a weekend of fun in Hardin County!

Fisherman's Bend Cabin features a queen-sized bed, a new sleeper sofa that converts into a full sized bed, air conditioning, and a kitchenette with a water dispenser. The cabin lot features a picnic table alongside a large fire ring, with plenty of parking space. A restroom is available in the campground for cabin renter use.

Fees

Cabin rentals are $45 per night (plus 5% tax, $2.25). A $4 non-refundable processing fee will be added to each cabin rental at the time of check-out.

This facility requires an additional security deposit check of $100 (refundable) upon arrival. See park host upon arrival to submit your security deposit and receive the cabin's access code.

The deposit will be returned or shredded if the cabin and grounds are vacated in good, clean condition and their or no damages. All or part of the deposit may be retained against cleanup costs, damages, or losses incurred. If the deposit amount does not cover such costs, the renter is held responsible for additional payment


Hours of Operation & Seasons

  • Fisherman's Bend Cabin is available for rent between April and October each year. Exact dates are dependent on the campground season.
  • Check-in time is after 4:00 pm on the day of arrival. See park host upon arrival to submit your security deposit and obtain the cabin's access code.
  • Check-out time is before 11:00 am on the day of departure.

Closures

The cabin is not available to rent November-March each year. Any additional facility closures will be noted. 


Permits

  • All rules and regulations of the Hardin County Conservation Board and the State of Iowa are in effect.
  • Smoking is prohibited inside the cabin.
  • Keg Beer is prohibited.
  • Pet & Service Animal Policy: No pets allowed in the cabins. A therapy animal is considered the same as a pet under the law and this policy, and therefore is not a service animal or service-animal-in-training.  A service animal or service-animal-in-training is not a pet. A person with a disability has a right to be accompanied by a service animal or service-animal-in-training, provided the animal is under control, without being required to make additional payment for lodging. Renters who plan on bringing a service animal are required to complete a Service Animal Registration.
  • Clean-up of the cabin must be completed prior to check out. See Cabin Cleaning Checklist for cleaning expectations.
