Discover Iowa's Winter Birds During Iowa Falls' Winter Rec Fest

Event Summary

Calkins’ Nature Area staff members will teach you all about Iowa’s winter birds inside the Hardin County Conservation Mobile Wildlife Observatory. Learn to properly use binoculars to view wild birds at feeders, learn more about winter bird behaviors, and even see some birds up close inside our mobile observatory. Raptors, waterfowl, and songbirds will be the focus of our discussion. As part of our activity, we will also be making snow animals at Highland Golf Course after our bird discussion concludes. We should have plenty of space to make snow creatures, so bring your hats, gloves, and join us for some outdoor fun at the Iowa Falls Winter Rec Fest!
