Event Summary

It’s that time of year once again to witness the amazing display of migrating Monarch butterflies. Join us at Calkins Nature Center Thursday, September 10th at 6:00 p.m. for a program about the wonders of the Monarch butterfly life cycle, followed by a trip to the prairie to attempt catching, tagging, and releasing a monarch as it begins its journey to Mexico. As we enjoy an early autumn evening you can also take in the sounds of one of our favorite local bands, Hogan’s Goat who will perform in the amphitheater from 7:00 - 8:00. There is no cost or preregistration required for this event. There are a limited number of nets avaiable to share, but feel free to bring your own if you have one. See you there!
