Event Summary

Learn the basics of ice fishing including ice safety, fish ID, and more on the lake at Moorehead Park. Fishing license required for those over the age of 16 who plan to fish. What to bring· Warm layers including a waterproof outer layer – waterproof gloves, or extra gloves· Warm wool or composite socks and insulated boots· An insulated layer to keep your feet off the ice like a floatable throw cushion (optional)· Extra dry clothes in the car.

What we provide· Ice fishing pole with light weight line and brightly colored jigs with a small hook· An ice auger to cut holes· Bait such as wax worms· 5 gallon bucket to sit on and to carry gear and fish· A life vest under your gear to keep warm and safe (optional)· A fire and hot cocoa to warm up with· Staff to set you up and help get you hooked on ice fishing
