Memorial Day Weekend Activities

Event Summary

The Iowa County Conservation Board staff will be hosting a variety of activities over Memorial Day weekend at Lake Iowa Park.  Come out on Friday, May 27 at dusk for a family friendly outdoor movie on the bigscreen.  Free will donation pop and popcorn will be served.  Please bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.       
    On Saturday, May 28 the day will start with a free will donation Pancake Breakfast served in the lower level of the Lake Iowa Nature Center from 7:00-11:00AM.  The yearly Dummy Board Tournament will begin at 10:00AM with registration starting at 9:45AM.  There is an entrance fee of $10 per two member team.  Cash prizes will be awarded.        
    Also taking place from 7:00AM until noon is the 2nd Annual Outdoor Gear Porch Sale located on the front porch of the Lake Iowa Nature Center.  The Friends of Iowa County Conservation Foundation is still accepting donations of gently used outdoor items (camping gear, recreation equipment, yard items, etc.) to be sold at the porch sale.  Items may be dropped off at the nature center.  All proceeds will benefit programs and projects at the nature center.            
    Finally, on Saturday evening from 6:00-9:00PM the Larry Goodman Band will be playing at the Lake Iowa Nature Center.  There is a $6 fee at the door and food will be served.  For more information about any event, please call (319) 655-8465.
