Playscape Community Build Day

The Iowa County Conservation Board is planning a Community Build Day on Saturday, March 31 to finish the construction of the Nature Explore Playscape at the Lake Iowa Nature Center.  Work will begin at 9:00 am and continue throughout the day.  Goals for the work day include completing the deck and railing of the tree house and music stage, weaving living willow tunnels, installing flagstone flooring, moving wood chips, building raised garden beds, and more!  Tasks will be available for volunteers of all ages and abilities.  Activities will be planned for younger children, so even the littlest helpers can have a chance to get involved.  Please dress for the weather and wear old clothes and shoes that can get dirty.  Bring along work gloves if you have them.  A filling chili lunch will be served inside the nature center for all volunteers.  For more information or to sign up to help, please call (319) 655-8466 or e-mail lstephens@co.iowa.ia.us  Additional information about the Nature Explore Playscape project is available on our website at:  www.mycountyparks.com/county/iowa.aspx
