Help us Celebrate!

Bring your family and friends for a fun day celebrating 15 years of the Hurstville Interpretive Center. All are welcome for this free event!

Come enjoy fun programs, activities, food, drinks and live music!

Schedule of Activities - Saturday, August 17

1:00 - ​7:00 pm Open House.
Explore the pond with a naturalist, see live animals (live reptile presentations on the hour 1-4pm), face painting, and more. Silent Auction (all proceeds go to the Hurstville Trail!). Snacks and desserts available for sale (freewill donation). 

2:00 pm Live Bird Program.
A Scott County Naturalist will be here with live birds of prey for a presentation.

3:00 - 5:00 pm
Kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boards on the Hurstville Marsh sponsored by Maquoketa River Rental and Yard Games sponsored by Live Action Games

Evening Entertainment

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Black Velvet Band
Bring your lawn chair and enjoy a free outdoor concert!

5:30 - 8:00 pm
Tri-M BBQ Food Truck

5:00 - 8:00 pm
In addition to snacks and desserts being sold throughout the day, Friends of Jackson County Conservation will be selling adult beverages during the evening portion.

If you'd like to help with this event, we are accepting donations for the silent auction as well as desserts and snacks to sell. All proceeds at the event will go towards to the Hurstville Pedestrian Trail. Volunteers are also being sought for this event, let us know if you'd like to help! Email jen@jacksonccb.com.
