Explore the ecological and economic benefits of incorporating prairie on private lands. On Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Jackson County Extension Services Building, located at 1102 E Quarry St, Maquoketa, IA 52060 private landowners in Jackson County, Iowa, are invited to attend the Prairie on Private Lands workshop, an opportunity to learn about the natural history, planting, management, and benefits of prairie ecosystems. Learn about the Iowa State Prairie Strips program and its benefits to both agriculture and habitat as well as NRCS programs and resources designed to support prairie restoration. Also, youth are invited to attend educational youth programming held on site. Doors open at 8:30 am and talks will begin at 9:00 am.
