Iowans Out West Series - Researching bears in Montana and forest fire ecology in Colorado. Finding your own way on the Continental Divide Trail in Colorado or guiding a group of travelers on a multi-day adventure to hike, kayak or fish in Alaska. Keeping people and resources safe in Wyoming. These adventures aren’t the fall line-up for Public T.V. They are the topics for our fall/winter series “Iowans Out West”! Join us for one or all of the programs and you will have the opportunity to see what some current and former area residents have experienced “out west”. Each program will also feature food related (somewhat) to the speaker’s topic. This series of programs is also designed to raise funds for the Hurstville Extreme Makeover project. As such, there will be a fee for each program and meal. Join us for some interesting programs, a chance to visit with some adventurous people, and to support Friends of Jackson County Conservation as they raise funds to make the outdoor area around the Center more accessible, more fun, and more educational! Cost for program & meal is $9/person. Pre-registration is required by the Wednesday prior to the program so we can prepare the right amount of food.
