Lake Darling Watershed Tour
OCT 11 2019 9:00 AM
Event Summary
Lake Darling was under renovation for many years as the 300-acre lake was drained, a new dam built, and the surrounding watershed improved. Stan Simmons was the watershed coordinator for the project. During the tour, Stan will share about the project which consisted of 59 different landowners taking part in over 162 projects on private ground to improve the area. This work protects the lake from silt accumulation, which led to the previous issues with poor water quality. Pre-registration is required for this program and spaces are limited. To register, please email Naturalist Brittney Tiller at Naturalist@JeffersonCountyConservation.com.
