Fall Birding at Tug's Fork

Jefferson County Park, Jefferson County

Saturday, October 12, 2019

Meet birdwatching.com's Diane Porter and retired conservation board naturalist Therese Cummiskey for a leisurely morning of fall birding.  We'll meet at the parking lot south of the Lake Sugema Wildlife Refuge unit headquarters (23213 Iowa Oak Grove Ave, Keosauqua, Iowa) where we'll have access to water and prairie and will be just a short drive from timber.  From kestrels and great blue herons to white-crowned sparrows and red-headed woodpeckers, participants can expect a nice variety of species.  Bring along your binoculars and dress for fall weather.

This is an official Des Moines River Water Trails event cosponsored by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Jefferson County Conservation. Pre-registration is not required. For more information  please call (641)-472-4421 or email Naturalist@JeffersonCountyConservation.com.
