Backpacking 101

Event Summary

JCC Naturalist Kristen Morrow will be a guest instructor at Indian Creek Nature Center. Kristen will teach about backpack trip basics, and about gear considerations for those new to backpacking. Some topics covered include how to fit and pack a backpack, what sleeping bag is right for you, differences between backpacking stoves and water filtration, and more. Participants will learn about upcoming backpacking trips organized by local groups as well as backpacking hot spots in the area. If you have it, feel free to bring gear, and definitely bring trail questions!

Fee: Indian Creek Nature Center member $6; Non-Member $8.
