Event Summary

Bundle up the family, load the thermos with hot chocolate or coffee and come out to F.W. Kent Park to learn about one of Iowa's most enjoyable winter activities.  Participants will learn ice fishing basics, including ice safety, equipment needs, fishing technique and fish identification.  Instruction will begin at the Conservation Education Center and will move to the Conservation Education Center ponds.   Participants are urged to dress for the weather, bring something to sit on and any ice fishing equipment that may be available to them.  (This program is dependent upon safe ice conditions and safe weather conditions.)  Call (319) 645-1011 or e-mail bfreidhof@co.johnson.ia.us to preregister.  For day of event questions or cancellation concerns call Naturalist Brad Freidhof on his mobile at (319) 331-7513.
