Women's Superior Trail Backpacking Trip

Event Summary

The trip will take place from August 20-26, 2016. Participants will hike a 34 mile section of the Superior Hiking Trail along Lake Superior in northern Minnesota. Along the way, hikers will stop at some of the trail’s highlights, including Gooseberry Falls, the scenic vistas over Bean and Bear Lake, and the raging St. Louis River. Participants will practice outdoor skills such as fire-building, camp set-up, navigation, and outdoor cooking. Participants should be able to hike up to nine miles over rough terrain while carrying a 45 lb. pack, and spend multiple nights tent camping. 

The trip is open to women ages 14 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an 18 year old guardian. The trip fee is $350, and includes most necessary gear, food, and travel expenses.
