Ice Fishing with TAKO (Take a Kid Outdoors)

JAN 14 2017 11:00 AM

F.W. Kent Park , Johnson County

Event Summary

Getting kids outside has never been more important! We need young people to grow up with a passion for the outdoors and an interest in protecting it! While many people agree, it can be hard to walk the talk when the temperatures dip. Having fun guided winter activities, like this kid-centered ice fishing clinic, definitely helps!

Take A Kid Outdoors (TAKO), JCC, and the City of Coralville are partnering on this free event. You will learn the basics of ice fishing, safety, equipment needs, techniques, and fish ID. A limited number of fishing poles will be available. If you have access to any additional equipment, please bring yours too!

As always, be sure to dress for the weather and pack plenty of layers!

Lunch will be served at noon. Please help us to reduce waste by bringing a water bottle, plates, silverware, and other lunch items. Registration is requested; questions and registration can be directed to TAKO executive Director Judy Joyce at 319-358-2542 or at judy@takeakidoutdoors.org.
