Event Summary

Each fall, the amazing monarch butterfly travels over 2,000 miles south to Mexico. Come learn about this incredible journey and take part in citizen science! An indoor presentation about monarchs will be followed by outdoor exploration to catch, tag, and release the butterflies as they pass through Kent Park. The information collected from the tags will then be submitted to a nation-wide monitoring program.

This is a free event. Pre-registration is requested; to register, email kmorrow@co.johnson.ia.us or call 319-645-1011. All ages are welcome to attend.
