Picnic in the Park: Pollinators

Event Summary

Join a Johnson County Conservation Naturalist for lunch and a program at Scott Church Park on Tuesday, July 21 at 11:30 a.m.! Bring a lunch, blanket and chairs, and enjoy a short program about pollinators. After lunch is finished, participants will make milkweed seed balls to be planted for pollinators like monarchs. July’s Picnic in the Park will take place at Scott Church Park located at 5409 American Legion Rd. Iowa City, IA 52240.  

If you miss the pollinator program, look forward to another Picnic in the Park in August. In August the Picnic in the Park will take place on Thursday, August 6 at 11:30 a.m. at Walker Park in River Junction. The program will focus on pioneer life in Iowa, and participants will be able to see a historic log cabin.  

These programs are open to all ages and do not require reservations. In the event of inclement weather the programs may be canceled. Cancelations will be posted on the JCC Facebook page.
