Plans for Siems Dock Replacement

Due to weather and frost heaving, this dock was rendered unsafe and unusable over the winter months. KCCB has begun the removal process of the old dock. A plan is in place to replace it with a rock fishing pier. This pier will be in roughly the same location, and could possibly extend farther out into the pond than the old dock did. It will be more durable and will withstand the weather much better than the old dock. The timing of the new pier will be determined by when the funding sources can be secured and by when a contractor can start construction. The rock pier will look similar to the one pictured here.

The Kollasch family has given us permission to move the the Kollasch family benches that were on the old dock to the next dock to the south.

After this first pier is built, the plan is to replace the remaining docks in a similar way. The hope is to replace one every year for the next three years, but this is yet to be determined.
