Mushroom Foray

Event Summary

 You’re invited to bring family and friends on a mushroom hunt led by members of Iowa’s Prairie States Mushroom Club. This will be an opportunity to seek morels, of course, but we won’t overlook a chance to learn about other spring mushrooms. As the location has yet to be determined, plan on meeting at 9:00 at the Lee County Conservation Board headquarters at Heron Bend Conservation Area a couple miles north of Montrose on Highway 61. We’ll caravan from there. Recommended gear: a basket, a sharp knife, paper sandwich bags or a roll of waxed paper. Nice to have: a water bottle, a snack, a camera.
