Trumpeter Marsh
Site currently houses 1 pair of Trumpeter Swans. A partnership has been established between the Iowa DNR and the Lee County Conservation Board's Wildlife Management Team which monitor this site and the Trumpeter Swan's activities.

Corner of Henry Laden Drive and Highway 61. South of Fort Madison, North of Montrose.
Features
Trumpeter swam restoration effort begin 1995 after obtaining approval from the Mississippi Flyway Technical Section. Trumpeter Swans are the largest North American waterfowl, weighing up to 35 pounds with up to an 8 foot wingspan. Iowa's only native nesting swan. Historically, trumpeters nested throughout the state. Site features a large shelter overlooking wetland and a nesting platform. The ground and shelter was generously donated by Lee County Pheasant's Forever.
