Cedar Amateur Astronomers Program - Results from the Next Generation of Radio Arrays: November 10, Saturday, 7:30p.m. at EIOLC Dr. Cornelia Lang of the University of Iowa will present a program on the next generation of radio interferometer operated by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory.  The Jansky Very Large Array (JVLA) in Socorro, NM has recently been upgraded with new front and back end instrumentation - and can observe over a much broader frequency range with much better sensitivity.  In addition, the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) located at 5000 m altitude in Northern Chile is coming online. About half the array is operating and carrying out exciting early science!  Advanced Registration: Not required/show up. Cost: Free.
