Walk in the Park Series: Woodpecker Hill Trail - Pinicon Ridge Park

Event Summary

Woodpecker Hill Trail has a trail-head which is near the parking area located near Woodpecker Lodge. The trail is 1.7miles in length, it takes about 45 minutes to walk but we intend to do some closer looking at features along the trail. Hilly terrain along the trail features a unique limestone outcropping located in the valley of the forest and a small water cascade known locally as "the Horseshoe Falls". Enter the Park by the entrance at 4732 Horseshoe Falls Road and follow the signs to the trailhead.  Bring a headlamp or flashlight and your walking stick if you like. Cost: $1/child 16 and under or $2.50/ adult, pre-registration required.
