Forest Management for Iowa Bats

Event Summary

Learn more about our Iowa bats and derecho 2020 response management to benefit bats and a wide range of other native wildlife at Wanatee Park. The program will involve a short overview of Iowa bats and habitat, followed by a guided hike led by Linn County Conservation staff, foresters, and biologists to discuss forest management efforts since derecho. This program is a collaboration from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Linn County Conservation. 

• Do NOT use main entrance to the park.

• Take Lakeside Road from Highway 13

• Destination is in the 6400 block of Lakeside Road just north of Abbotsford Road

• Look for program signs.
