Nature
Investigators (2nd -5th grade)
Students will explore the prairie, forest, and wetland
around the Learning Center. This program will focus on ecosystems, habitat, and
nature discovery. Students will look closely at where things live and how they
survive. They may use dip nets to catch aquatic critters; learn about amazing
birds, and track mighty mammals. Expect to play camouflage games, discover
animal trails, and learn about predators and the prey they hunt.
Drop-off
program. You will be greeted by a naturalist at the
parking lot to welcome your child.
Space is
limited and pre-registration is required. To ensure all necessary health and
safety group size will be limited to 12 students per session and social
distancing guidelines will be followed. Program may be cancelled if minimum
number is not reached. Students are required to bring a mask and wear it when
instructed.
Programs
held rain, snow, or shine except in the case of severe weather. No flip-flops, crocs or any open-toed or soft-soled shoes.
Wear long pants and clothes that will get dirty. In case of rain, pack a
raincoat or a poncho (no umbrellas please). During the winter months, please
wear layers of clothing and dress warmly. Students should have a backpack and
water bottle.
A
confirmation email will be sent after registration. In case of questionable
weather, guardians will be notified of the plans for each day. A health form will be attached that will need
to be completed prior to program start date.
