How the Forest Heals
OCT 07 2021 5:30 PM
Event Summary
From woodlands to the city streets, the 2020 derecho ripped thousands of trees out of the earth. These trees shaded lawns, homes, playgrounds, and trails. They also provided shelter and food for many birds and animals. As trees were removed, people had to deal with the stresses of altered views, lack of privacy, and lack of wildlife. Where do we go from here? What trees should be planted? How do we bring the wildlife back? What is going to happen to the woodlands? Join our naturalists and rangers for an informative hike and see how the woodlands are healing. No cost.
