Nothing is better than a hot fire on a cold day. In this hands-on basic fire-building class students will build fires using ferrocerium rods, magnesium shavings, and char cloth. We will also explore traditional fire-making methods including flint & steel, and friction fire-making techniques. This program involves experimentation, critical thinking, trial & error, and involves fire. Students are encouraged to bring a small food or drink item to cook over their fire upon completion. Parents and guardians do not need to attend this camp with their children. Best suited for ages 9-11. Cost $10.
