Event Summary

Presentations from Gary Lange (Fish Collecting in New Guinea), Charles Harrison (Fish Parasites and Problems), and Dick Van Hyfte (Setting up a Beginner's Planted Aquarium).  No charge to attend.  Non EIAA members are welcome to bring a sack lunch if they would like to stay for the afternoon mixer from 1pm-3pm.

A little more about the Eastern Iowa Aquarium Association club:

 The Eastern Iowa Aquarium Association is a non-profit organization to promote the Tropical and Marine Fish Keeping hobby with an emphasis on education and fellowship.   Since 1983 The Eastern Iowa Aquarium Association has worked to disseminate helpful information throughout the fish keeping community.  EIAA is for everyone with an interest in fish keeping.  EIAA is for YOU!   EIAA is Affiliated with FAAS - the Federation of American Aquarium Societies.  We exchange newsletters with aquarium clubs across the United States, Canada and Australia each month.  

We meet on the Second Tuesday of the month (Except July) at the Wickiup Hill Learning Center 10260 Morris Hills Road, Toddville, IA. at 7:00 p.m.  

Typical Agenda: Updates on upcoming events, Speaker presentation on educational topics in the aquarium hobby, Round table discussion of what’s happening in our tanks - Joys and the Help Desk, Mystery fish contest- guess the fish and win the fish, Monthly bowl show, Mini auction of fish and/or plants, Door prizes.  In July we have a picnic on a weekend.  

We also have a Spring Show at Noelridge Park Greenhouse on Easter Weekend.  We set up our aquariums and showcase different species of fish in conjunction with the Open House for the Greenhouse.    We have two large Auctions (500 items) twice a year of tropical fish, aquatic plants and equipment related to the Aquarium hobby.
