Bald Eagle Bus Tour


Event Summary

Saturday, February 28, 6:30 am Cedar Rapids pick-up; 7:30 am Fontana Park, Buchanan County pick-up If you enjoy watching Bald Eagles, visiting the Prairie du Chien area is a must. This picturesque river-town is along the eagle’s migration route and is their normal wintering area along the Mississippi. This one-day bus tour will take us to viewing locations along the river followed by educational activities (including a presentation with a live bald eagle) taking place at Prairie du Chien’s annual Bald Eagle Appreciation Days. Enjoy lunch on your own, then travel along the Great River Road to Guttenberg’s lock and dam for additional eagle viewing opportunities to wind down the day. Test your eagle knowledge with a trivia contest on the return trip home. Registration is $55/person. Register by calling Fontana Park at 319-636-2617 or email fontanapark@iowatelecom.net.
