The high and low ropes challenge courses at Langwood offer groups the chance to build comradery, learn to work better as a team, or just have a fun adventure.

School groups, businesses, corporate teams, scouts, athletic teams, family groups and many others have used the ropes challenge course at Langwood Education Center. We can tailor a program to fit your needs.  You can schedule your group for a whole day with both high ropes and low ropes or for a half day with just one of the components.
Individuals must be at least 8 years old. A minimum of six people are required to schedule a program, with an age minimum of 8 years old.

High Ropes
The high ropes course at Langwood Education Center takes participants 30 feet off the ground, through the safety of a trained belayer. The high ropes course is adventurous and exciting. It builds self-esteem and strengthens bonds between team members. Participants wear harnesses fastened to a belay rope while on the course. This rope is also connected to the belayer on the ground and serves as the safety line. Our high ropes elements include the log, two-line bridge, sky chair, Burma bridge, multi-vine, leap of faith and a zip line.

Low Elements
Low challenge course elements and initiative activities keep participants close to the ground and the group is challenged with problem solving situations. Examples of activities include Spider’s Web, Trust Fall, a low log, Langwood Baseball, minefield and more. The low ropes course focuses strongly on the elements of team building including leadership development, communication, creative problem solving, trust and cooperation. Through activities and processing, groups work through fundamentals that will help them to be successful as a group.
