Brown Bag Bunch - Building a Conscious Wardrobe: Where Conservation and Your Closet Meet
SEP 24 2019 11:30 AM
Event Summary
Did you know that textile dyeing is the second largest polluter of water globally? Or that it takes 20,000 liters of water to produce one cotton t-shirt? Join Sydney Algreen-Hunter, Assistant Director of Education from Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden as we stop to think about how the clothes we wear when we’re outdoors, impact the outdoors. During this program, learn about the true cost of your clothes and how (and where) you can make more sustainable purchases to keep our water, air and soil a little cleaner. There is no fee for this program; however participants must pre-register before September 20 at 4:00 p.m. by calling 641-752-5490, email mccb@marshallcountyia.gov, or text 641-758-9777.
