FEB 20 2020 8:30 AM
GrimesFarm Conservation Center and Recreation Area , Marshall County
Event Summary
How it Works
Marshall County Conservation has planned two Common Ground recording days at the GrimesFarm and Conservation Center. The dates are January 16 and February 20 from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Participant need to call the conservation center at 641-752-5490 to reserve a date and time to record your story. Once you have registered for a time slot we will send you more information to help prepare for the recording session.
Select a Partner
Asking someone to participate in an interview is a way of honoring their experiences, knowledge, and feelings. There is no "right" person to ask. Select someone you are comfortable talking to, whose life your are curious about, and whose stories you would like to hear, preserve, and share. Make sure they know that their stories could become public, if you both wish. The project is free and open to participants of all generations, ages, backgrounds, knowledge bases, and places of residence.
Recording Space Marshall County Conservation will provide you with a quiet, comfortable place to record your conversation and the equipment to record your conversation.
Recording Day Participants should plan to spend approximately 45 minutes talking with their partner. This conversation will be archived and maybe shared with the public. There will be a display created and your story may be used to help further environmental education in Iowa.
