Who knew there were so many bird species right here in central Iowa? From the eastern meadowlark in our prairies, the white-breasted nuthatch in our forests, and the mallard in our waterways, Iowa is full of interesting and beautiful birds. Join Naturalist Intern Bill Carey for a bird hike on the trails at Grimes Farm, and learn about some of the tools available to help you identify any bird you might not recognize. Be sure to wear shoes that are comfortable for walking, and you may bring your own binoculars, but some will be provided by the nature center. There is no fee for this program, however, pre-registration is required by July 14 before 4:00 p.m. Register by calling 641-752-5490, emailing mccb@marshallcountyia.gov, or texting only 641-758-9777.
