Event Summary

Did you know there are more than 100 species of edible mushrooms in Iowa? Glen Schwartz, president of the Prairie State Mushroom Club will be at the Grimes Farm and Conservation Center on April 4th from 11:30 to 12:30 to share great photography of about 35 species, in more-or-less chronological order, from Morels in the spring to Giant Puffballs in the fall. While there are only a few good mushrooms in the spring, there can be dozens of great mushroom species in the fall. This program will feature mushrooms and fungi that are easy to identify and good tasting. Participants must register before March 10, 2017 at the Grimes Farm and Conservation Center to reserve limited spots. Register by calling 641-752-5490.
