Brown Bag Bunch - Casting for Recovery

Event Summary

Learn about the unique program Casting for Recovery and try your hand at casting a fly rod. CFR provides free fly-fishing retreats for women with breast cancers to aid in breast cancer education, provide peer support and encourage physical therapy after cancer treatment. Iowa’s CFR founder, Annette Morris, will cover this amazing experience and its far reaching effects.  Also on hand, Dean Elder, a local fly-fisherman, will briefly demonstrate casting a fly rod and as time allows participants can try casting a line. There is no fee for this program, however we request that participants pre-register before July 6 by calling the Grimes Farm and Conservation Center at 641-754-5490
