Event Summary

Cedar River Wild Run

Mitchell County Environmental Education Foundation will be hosting the 3rd annual "Cedar River Wild Run" 5k on Saturday, September 24th during the Cedar River Rendezvous. This is a challenge course, not a race, laid out along the Cedar River Greenbelt Trail with "wild" obstacles along the way. Dress up as your favorite wild animal or plant and hit the trail! We will be having a "Critter Crawl" for kids, too! Participants should expect to get wet and dirty!

Check-in for the run is from 7:30-8:30 AM, with the run beginning at 9:00 A.M. Runners will wind along the Cedar River on a natural terrain trail that begins and ends at the Milton R. Owen Nature Center. Children 12 and under are welcome to participate in the “Critter Crawl”, which will begin following the Wild Run at 10:00 AM.

Awards will be presented at 11:00, or at the completion of the “Critter Crawl”. Awards given will be for first place in both individual and teams, and for best individual and team costume.

T-shirts are available for pre-registered participants. Registration forms may be found on Facebook, MyCountyParks.com, emailed, or picked up at the Milton R. Owen Nature Center.

All proceeds of the Cedar River Wild Run benefit the Mitchell County Environmental Education Foundation. Please contact Chelsea at (641) 732-5204 or email her at chelsea@osage.net with any questions or to request a registration from.
