5th Annual Canoe & Kayak Race On The Inkapaduta Trail Of The Little Sioux River

The O’Brien County Conservation Board and the Little Sioux Valley Conservation Association would like to invite you to their 5th Annual Canoe & Kayak Race On The Inkpaduta Trail Of The Little Sioux River. The race will begin at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Hwy 10 Roadside Park west of Peterson and will finish at the Prairie Heritage Center. Please be sure to arrive before 10 A.M. to receive your assigned start time.
Pre-Registration for the Annual Inkpaduta Canoe & Kayak Race is $35 Per Canoe (includes 2 t-shirts) or $20 Per Kayak (includes 1 t-shirt) and must be received on or before Tuesday, August 6, 2013. All pre-registered participants completing the course in less than 4 hours will be entered into a drawing for a two night stay at a cabin at Dog Creek Park. The winners of each division will be awarded 2 night stay in a 6 person cabin at Mill Creek Park or Dog Creek Park and 2nd place in each division will include 5 nights of camping at Mill Creek Park or Dog Creek Park.
Pre-registration is not required to participate in this great event (the O’Brien County Conservation Board is not able to guarantee the t-shirt of your choice) but you may register Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Hwy 10 Roadside Park prior to 10 A.M. Additional t-shirts will be available at the Prairie Heritage Center, but to insure yours, please pre-register.
Join us for dinner! At noon the volunteers of the Little Sioux Valley Conservation Association will be serving a light lunch at the Prairie Heritage Center for a small fee.
Rules:
•Participants must provide their own canoes, paddles, and life jackets
•All participants must have adequate life jackets on board and wear them in high water conditions
•No more than two paddles allowed in each canoe
•Canoes must be propelled by paddles only – NO MOTORS ALLOWED
•Transportation, delivery, and pick up are the responsibility of the participant(s)
•Detailed race instructions will be mailed to registered participants
•Participation in this event is “At Your Own Risk”
