This enclosed ADA facility is popular for reunions, company picnics, weddings, and group functions. Amenities include a full kitchen, restrooms, seating for 125, outdoor BBQ grills, heat and air-conditioning.

 

Reservations may be made up to 2 years but must be made a minimum of 7 days in advance of the date of reservation.

Location: As you enter the park, the Longhouse will be to your left near the campground.

Fees

Reservation Fee: $ 200

  • Only one reservation is allowed per day.

Advance Booking Requirement:

  • Reservations may be made up to TWO YEARS to date in advance.
  • Reservations must be made at least 7 days in advance.

Restrictions:

  • Rental must be in the name of a person who is 18 years of age or older who will be present at the facility for the full term of the reservation.

Alcohol/beer/wine Restrictions:

  • If beer or wine is present at the facility, rental must be in the name of a person who is 21 years of age or older who will be present at the facility for the full term of the reservation. No other type of alcoholic beverage is allowed. 
  • Uniformed officer is required at the Longhouse for groups of 50 people or more having beer, wine, or champagne present. See rental contract for details.

Special Events: Additional fees may apply with special events. See Permits section for more information.

Youth Group Discounts: An organized youth group may reserve shelters at a discounted rate.  Please contact the Polk County Conservation Office at (515) 323-5300 or email pccb_info@polkcountyiowa.gov for more information on how to receive the discount.

Hours of Operation & Seasons

  • Open all year
  • Hours of operation: 10:00 am to 10:30 pm; extended hours with an approved Special Events Application.
 

Closures

  • Reservations not available during the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's holidays.

Permits

Park Rules:

  • All Rules & Regulations of the Polk County Conservation Board are in effect.
  • All laws of the State of Iowa are in effect.

Special Events: 

  • Special Event Permit Application must be completed for things such as dunk tanks; carnivals; erecting large tents; horse-drawn carriages; generators; power saws; chain saws; power tools of any kind; public address system whether fixed, portable or vehicular-mounted; inflatable bouncers; smoker grills; extra picnic tables; or extra parking.
  • Polk County Conservation Board's liability insurance excludes the use of aircraft on park property including hot-air balloons, planes, helicopters, ultra-lights, and parachutes.
  • Special events require a 45-day prior approval.
