Nature Photography Class

Join local nature photographer, Ty Smedes, in a “hands-on” nature photography class. During the evening we’ll cover use of demonstrative slides to cover equipment, basic digital camera and post-processing concepts, photographic techniques, appropriate composition, and lighting as it relates to the artistic presentation of wildlife, scenic, wildflower, and macro subjects. Participants will practice using their own camera equipment outdoors. This is a great class for those who want to get started with nature photography as well as those who are already experienced and want to pick up some new ideas and techniques. Best for those with 35mm DSLR cameras utilizing interchangeable lenses, but will be helpful to those with point-and-shoot cameras as well – especially those wanting to upgrade to DSLR. Participants should come prepared for the outdoors. Appropriate outdoor clothing, including hiking boots or similar foot-wear is recommended, along with protection from the sun and biting insects.

Minimum age 18. Pre-registration required, deadline July 10. Fee: $15. Participant must supply their own camera.
