Bat House Building
Jester Park, Polk County
Sunday, October 25, 2020
Bats
are one of the most effective natural controllers of insects, eating thousands
of bugs nightly. Currently, bat populations are facing many challenges like
White Nose Syndrome (WNS). Help them out by building a bat house. Not only does
this give them a safe place to live and breed, it also attracts bats to your
neighborhood, helping to decrease mosquitoes. A naturalist will give a short
presentation about bats and WNS before we begin construction. All materials and
tools provided. Masks will be required for this open-air program.
