"Articipant" Camp - for ages 8-12

Event Summary
“ARTicipant”: (noun) one who participates in an art and nature camp. “Articipants” will explore the relationship between art and nature by gathering and using natural items from three unique Iowa habitats, woodland, prairie, and wetland, to create works of art. This approach not only allows children to be creative and artistic, but also teaches them about the natural sciences as they investigate the connections of art in nature. This three day hands-on camp will conclude by working as a team of artists to plan, design, and create a lasting natural art piece at the Jester Park Playscape teaching the students the importance and benefits of public art. “Articipants” should have an interest in the arts and nature. “Articipants” should have an interest in the arts and nature, come dressed appropriately for outdoor activities, and bring a sack lunch and a water bottle each day. All other materials will be provided by Polk County Conservation. Fee: $75. Registration deadline is July 1. Limited to 12 campers.
Camp is from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day
