Older Wiser Livelier Seniors – Looking for an excuse to get out of house, make some new friends, enjoy a good meal and learn about the exciting world of nature? Then join us! These programs are held the first Tuesday of each month. The program starts at 11 a.m. An optional luncheon follows the program. The cost of the catered lunch is $8. Lasagna will be lunch. Registration deadline is April 29.

Carson Ode of Des Moines is a free lance artist and writer who had a dream of producing a comprehensive book on Iowa while taking advantage of the complementary talents of his science-oriented wife Connie. They spent the year 2008 researching all 99 counties and compiling the material into a glossy, 412-page, hard cover book with 1,400 color photos and an information-laden text. The book has become an Iowa best seller and is in a second printing.
