Older Wiser Livelier Seniors – Looking for an excuse to get out of house, make some new friends, enjoy a good meal and learn about the exciting world of nature? Then join us! These programs are held the first Tuesday of each month. The program starts at 11 a.m. An optional luncheon, catered by the Radish, follows the program. The cost of the catered lunch is $8. Registration deadline is December 2.

State Preserves represent a wide diversity of special places, including geological, archaeological, historical and biological sites ranging from native prairies and Loess Hill landforms to Indian mounds and a 19th-century fort. This program will highlight the special places in Iowa that have been afforded the state’s highest legal protection. John Pearson is an ecologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources who works closely with the State Preserves Advisory Board in their mission to protect significant natural and cultural features.
