Pelican Festival

Event Summary

Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Pelican Festival at Jester Park. With Saylorville Lake silting in, the lake will not be a suitable site for pelicans for much longer. This event will show you what you can do to improve water quality in your watershed. There will also be educational programs, high powered spotting scopes to veiw pelican, youth activities and guest appearances from Scoop the Pelican. Refreshments and merchandise will be available for purchase. All ages welcome.

The Pelican Festival is sponsored by Polk County Conservation, the US Army Corps of Engineers-Saylorville Lake, the Des Moines Audubon Society, and the Iowa DNR Wildlife Diversity Team.
