Thank you for your interest in becoming a valued member of our team that helps makes our Therapeutic Horsemanship Program (THP) a success!
If you have not already, you must be a general volunteer at JPEC before moving into THP. You can register for the general volunteer orientation HERE which will take place on March 11, from 6-7pm.
Work directly with the Riding Instructor in the Therapeutic Horsemanship Program as a side walker, horse leader, or lesson assistant. Responsibilities can entail assisting with lesson horses, grooming and tacking horses, and assisting with horses and students in lessons, help with mounting riders, being an aide in class, involving walking beside the horse, or leading the horse in class to assist the students. May require assistance with class set up and tear down of arena in coordination with planned lessons.

Job Skills / Requirements: All THP volunteers must be over 18 years of age. Must complete PCC (Polk County Conservation) volunteer application and sign PCC Code of Conduct. Must attend and complete JPEC (Jester Park Equestrian Center) volunteer training (Parts 1 and 2).
