Planting with Natives

APR 04 2017 6:30 PM

Jester Park , Polk County

Event Summary

A yard landscaped with native plants (those species that occurred in Iowa historically) hums with wildlife.  This is because the native plants attract pollinators and other beneficial insects that in turn attract birds and other wildlife to feed on the plants and insects.  Learn how to use native plants to create attractive, natural gardens that have the secondary benefit of providing homes for native wildlife and entertainment for humans.  You’ll be amazed how wonderfully busy and full of wildlife your yard can become! Pre-registration required; deadline is March 31. Fee: $5.
