Riverboat Twilight & Wood & Whitewater 2-day Eco-bus trip


Event Summary

Step on board with Polk County Conservation Eco-bus trips for a 2 day adventure to eastern Iowa. Day one begins with a tour of Kendrick Forest Products and their sustainability model.  We will see the process of timber to mill to kiln to product.  The journey continues to Backbone State Park and a tour of the historic Civilian Conservation Corps museum.  Then we travel to Manchester for a kayaking demonstration at the Whitewater park and free time to explore downtown.  Supper will be at Timmermans in East Dubuque with overnight accommodations in Dubuque.  Day 2 will start with breakfast at the hotel. The first stop will be a guided tour of the unique and beautiful Tiffany windows at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.   The highlight of the day will be boarding Riverboat Twilight at the Port of Dubuque for a 6 hour cruise down the Mississippi River to Le Claire.  The Captain will provided guided narration of the wildlife, valley landscapes and historic river towns.   Lunch and dinner will be served as we cruise downstream on the Riverboat Twilight.

Fee: $360.00 per person double occupancy or $395 per person single occupancy, includes transportation, meals, lodging and tour fees. Depart from Prairie Meadows NW parking lot 1, Altoona, IA.

Registration Deadline: August 9

Cancellation Policy: Reservations are fully refundable prior to registration deadline.  After the trip deadline registration may be refunded less the $10 cancellation fee if space can be filled.

Waiting List: A waiting list will be started when the initial trip is full.  The waiting list gives an indication of interest and is utilized if initial trip participants cancel.
