Event Summary
Venture with Polk County Conservation to the Loess Hills. Breathe in the fresh relaxing scent of lavendar fields in the hills of Missouri Valley. Taste artisan cheeses from fresh goat’s milk at the Honey Creek Creamery. Climb a 45 foot observation lookout tower at the Hitchcock Nature Center. View the scenic loess hills at the Harrison County Historical Village. Enjoy touring the first aronia berry farm in the country and sampling wines from their tasting room. End the day at Small’s Fruit Farm/apple orchard with a piece of pie and ice cream. Bring your camera, comfortable walking shoes and curiosity for a fun filled day discovering eco-tourism & alternative agriculture.
Fee: $65 includes,motorcoach transportation, lunch and tour fees. Departure from Living History Farms SE Parking lot off of Hickman Rd in Urbandale.
