Event Summary
Join Polk County Conservation Naturalists on this five day adventure. The Niobrara River is a National Wild and Scenic River, which offers spectacular paddling and scenery. We’ll stay three nights in a camp lodge overlooking the river. The lodge provides double occupancy bedrooms complete with a ¾ bath, a full kitchen, fire pit, yard games, hiking trails with access to the river, and much more. We’ll paddle three days on this beautiful river, including stops for lunch and exploring the numerous waterfalls found along the river. All paddling equipment is provided, and meals will be prepared for you while you relax and take in the scenery.
Cost is $400, which covers everything except 2 meals while travelling. Minimum age is 21 and limited to 10 participants who must have prior paddling experience, be in good physical condition and able to hike over uneven terrain. You will need to bring bedding, personal items, cash for souvenirs and meals while travelling.Registration deadline is May 16.
Registration opens on Friday, Feb. 14 at 8 a.m.
Trip Cancellation Policy: If the trip reservation is cancelled before the registration deadline the individual will be issued a full refund. If the trip reservation is cancelled after the registration deadline, the individual will be refunded payment only if the assigned space is re-reserved by another person. The refund shall be the amount of the trip less a $10 cancellation fee. If assigned space is not re-reserved, no refund will be given. The trip reservation fee may also be transferred to another trip prior to the registration deadline providing the trip is not full.
