Honey Creek Resort/Lake Rathbun Overnight Eco-Bus Trip

Event Summary
Journey with us to southern Iowa for
a unique overnight escape at Honey Creek Resort. Fall foliage, a luncheon cruise on Lake
Rathbun, a golf cart brigade, campfire stories and more await you on this two
day trip to southern Iowa. On our way to the lake we will
explore the award winning hay bale art in Lucas County, tour Hunter's Tree
Farm, visit and sample Piper's Chocolates, enjoy lunch at the Slykuis Tea Room,
and tour the HyVee Headquarters in Chariton.
Upon arrival at Honey Creek Resort our step on guide will give us a tour
of the area. Participants will have free time to explore Honey Creek after
checking into the hotel. Following
supper at the hotel, the local naturalist will give a presentation on the
wildlife of Lake Rathbun followed by s' mores around the campfire.
Day two will begin with breakfast at
the resort followed by a tour of the solar house. Then it is off to the award winning golf course
for the "golf cart brigade".
Lunch will be served aboard the J &K Houseboat as we enjoy a
narrated cruise on Lake Rathbun. Come enjoy the beauty of Fall in southern
Iowa with Polk County Conservation.
Fee: $190/per
night double occupancy or $240 single occupancy; includes motorcoach
transportation, meals, hotel and tour fees. Departing from Living History Farms parking lot, Urbandale, IA. Registration deadline is September 14.
Trip
Cancellation Policy:
If the trip reservation is cancelled before the registration
deadline the individual will be issued a full refund. If the trip reservation is cancelled after the registration deadline, the
individual will be refunded payment
only if the
assigned space is re-reserved by another person. The refund shall be the
amount of the trip less a
$10 cancellation fee. If assigned space
is not re-reserved, no refund will be given. The trip reservation fee may also be transferred
to another trip prior to
the registration deadline providing the trip is not full.
