Ringgold County Conservation is offering a GPS Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4th from 10:30 AM – Noon . This class will be held after the Annual Prairie Chicken Day that starts at 6:30 AM and will be located at the Kellerton Bird Conservation Area, one mile south on 300th Ave off of Hwy 2. Come listen and view the booming of the Greater Prairie Chicken and later join the Ringgold County Conservation Board at Poe Hollow Park to participate in the GPS Egg Hunt. Participants will be using GPS Units for a modern take on the traditional egg hunt. Participants will learn how to use a modern handheld GPS (Global Positioning System) Unit for hunting, hiking, geocaching and much more. Ringgold County Conservation Director Kate Zimmerman will give an introductory lesson on the GPS Units then participants will go on a geocache egg hunt set up by Ringgold County Conservation to practice using the GPS Units. Participants should meet at Hawkins Hideaway (enclosed) Shelter. Space is limited to 14 GPS units (however, families can share one allowing for more attendees) so pre-register by March 31st to reserve your spot for this FREE event! All participants must be 12 years or older. If younger, they must have an adult to assist them. Same day registration will not be allowed.
